Professional Experience

Ms. Leone has worked as a professional geologist in the Northwest for over 11 years specializing in environmental consulting.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Missouri at Rolla in 1999 and a Master’s degree in Geological Sciences from Michigan State University in 2009.

Ms. Leone has worked at several local environmental and engineering consulting firms as a staff and licensed geologist.  She has experience conducting and managing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, soil and groundwater remediation projects, and geotechnical inspections of soils and concrete, and spill response investigations and management.  Additionally, she has performed multiple UST site assessments and decommissioning, soil and groundwater investigations, and remedial excavation monitoring oversight. Ms. Leone also has experience performing soil and geologic hazard explorations, slope stability monitoring, foundation repair, surface geophysical surveys, and construction monitoring.

Ms. Leone has managed field operations and regulatory reporting for a major oil company and several public (including medium and large cities, and a major university) and private clients (property developers, banks, major Seattle area manufacturers) in western Washington. Ms. Leone’s excellent communication skills include years of previous work in radio and journalism. As a result of her strong ability to communicate, she has been called upon by clients to act as oversight in field operations in environmental property disputes.
